Fly in by plane to Malacca

As of 2010, the two scheduled flights are on Riau Airlines (Office at airport. Tel: +60-6-3174577) five times weekly (no flights on Wednesdays and Fridays) at 1005AM to Pekanbaru in Sumatra, Indonesia. The flight from Pekanbaru departs at 0730 and comes in at 0920. RM247 one way before taxes and Wings Air daily also to PekanBaru 

As there is no direct service to Malacca except from Pekanbaru in Sumatra to Batu Berendam Airport, visitors have to fly to Changi Airport in Singapore or KLIA in Sepang, Selangor. The Batu Berendam Airport is located 10 kms from the city of Malacca. Regular Batang buses (red, cream and yellow colour) run between the airport and Malacca Central Bus Terminal. The buses stop about 20 kms from the airport and from here one has to take a Tuahbus No. 65 (blue and white in colour) to the main airport building.

Riau Airlines fly five times a week and connects Malacca to Pekanbaru. This is a morning two hour flight and there is no flight on Wednesday and Friday.

From KLIA, various buses and taxis are available to Malacca which takse about 1 1/2 hours. From Singapore, the journey to Malacca would take approximately 4 - 5 hours. Many bus companies operate regular bus services starting from Lavender Street in Singapore. It is best to get tickets booked in advance as these buses tend to become full quiet fast. Fares range from 14 Singaporean dollars to 50 Singaporean dollars depending upon the class and facilities of the bus.
